The Nazis apparently had plans for the economy and social cohesion of Europe as a whole. It was entitled "Euoropean Union". Its even rumoured that some of the civil servants who drew up the plan, were involved in the planning of the common market/EEC/EU.

Don't know if it's true, but I recall reading somewhere that Oswald Mosley's fascist blackshirts also favoured a single European state.

That was an interesting programme.

I owned two VW golf automatics. Both suffered the same problem that was never diagnosed by a dealer. They went dead when you tried to restart when hot. Of course by the time they were trailered home there was no problem to diagnose. So my experience of German engineering isn't that good (Omegas excepted :o :o)

I had forgotten how awful cars were not that long ago. Allegro, Metro, Marina even the Mini.

The Austin All-aggro was a woeful pile of crap when it first appeared in 1973........then it got worse.

Far better than the Marina however.
