Title: Mission speaker spares
Post by: tigers_gonads on 09 August 2013, 18:13:26
Can anybody recommend anyone ?

Sat here on the sofa looking at my 734's
Noticed what I thought was a dirty mark on one of the cones.
Turns out the lower mid bass has 2 piggin holes in it and the upper mid is split in 2 places  >:( >:( >:(

Words cannot describe how piggin angry I am at this moment.
Of course, nobody in the house knows anything about it  >:( >:( >:(

Can't blame the dog.
He knows when he is in the poo and is quite happy so its either the lad or missus  >:(

Off for a long walk (don't trust myself behind the wheel of the car) too try and calm down before I end up in the cells  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I dont know how old the 734s are Steve, but my Gale 302s had a similar problem with the rubber dissolving with age  >:(.

Try these folks for spares:

Both cones on one cabinet are totally knackerd so it looks like i'll have to change all 4 cones in both cabinets to retain the ballance  >:(

Might even end up scrapping the lot at this rate.
Some bloke on Ebay has 4 for sale but at 165 quid delivered, its getting into repacement speaker prices.

Problem is, anybody who sells things like this tend to do "collection only" so the price of fuel comes into it   :(
Rob, i'll contact them in your link and have a word but I think it may end up "silly money"

The thing that really pished me off is that nobody has the nads to put there hands up to this .............  kin ell, im angry  >:( >:(

Thanks for the help lads  :)

My point was Steve that perhaps they suffered the same fate as my Gales - which literally dissolved with age! The guys at Wilmslow will certainly be able to comment .........

Point taken Rob but to be honest, the rubbers perfect.
The lower cone of the two has 2 puncture holes it it.
The upper of the two has 2 hairline cracks in it  :(

Maybe talking 'dangle berries' here but I can understand the top one being wear and tear but the botton one just looks like its being impacted with the corner of something ............... twice  :(

I will have a word with them though ...............  :)

would it not be possible to find the manufacturer of the cones/speakers not cabinets and see if you could get replacements/upgrades as I used to deal direct with jbl in hove many years ago, but that was for commercial pa kit !
