Title: emergency throttle response
Post by: Shandyman on 15 August 2013, 21:56:55
Hi,I have changed cam sensor, throttle housing, throttle pedal sensor and engine ECU.Engine starts and runs normally but poor throttle response and spanner light wont clear. The warmer the engine gets the worse it gets until it wont restart.fault codes are APP throttle sensor,TP throttle sensor and throttle adaption.I can operate the throttle housing with diag machine and that works but when you read throttle pedal sensor the max position is only 67%.I have had to rebuild the cyl head after one of the rollers gave up and took everything with it and I've checked engine loom to see if i've trapped a wire but all looks fine.............ps after running for 10 mins start getting EGR faults and the exhaust fumes stink, any ideas please

Finally got to the problem......cos I changed the cam sensor and got an aftermarket one it turns out it interferes with the engine ECU and puts throttle in emergency mode and won't adapt....Fitted original GM sensor cleared faults and now ok. 😀😀😀👍
