Post by: terry paget on 24 August 2013, 11:06:58

This car needs new front discs. Man on e-bay offers 2 discs and pads for £45. Asks do I want ATE or Lucas pads. Never been asked that before. Please advise.

1 July 1998.
Calipers are single cylinder. Is that the reason for the question?

More to do with disc diameter/thickness :y

Early four pots have 286x24mm discs, whereas later ones, and all V6s, have 296x28 mm discs.

Early cars have a 54mm piston, laters have 57mm ones.
