if you inadvertently swapped the inlet and exhaust cams on a 3.0 v6,would it run?the reason I ask is basically my my 3.0 elite seems a tad sluggish and im struggling to find anything wrong with it.

Well it would definitely make a difference as the inlet is a G Cam and the exhaust is an A cam on a 3.0.

On a 2.5 or a 2.6 the Inlet is also an A cam and it's known that putting G cams in place of them can gain 15 - 20 BHP (VX did this on the 2.6 Vectra B GSi's) so I guess the valve open duration must be longer.

I came across a V6 where someone had got an inlet cam and a exhaust cam the wrong way around, it ran but a little lumpy... hope that helps

-
It will run but not at its optimum.

it runs smoothly enough,it just seems to have lost its sparkle, its mpg is down a shade too,im convinced it was a lot quicker before I ran out oif talent a few months ago.only two things have changed,i did the head gaskets because I cooked it ,and I put a new exhaust on.

I was impressed with mine when I got it, but the cambelt change improved it considerably. Correcting the cam timing as it was a tooth out on all four cams made it run smoother, stronger and more economically.

Are the multi rams both working? If not some of the sparkle can go plus, mpg will suffer :y

Vx did this on the Vectra GSi, yes, but that was with a management system to suit.

its doubtful if this is going to yield many extra ponies on an Omega. I dyno'd a 2.6 once with 3.0 cams and this lost HP.

I have 3ltr cams in my 2.6 it shows at the top end of rev range. Dont know about hp though

				dyno plot at all ?

That was my first thought. But I'm sure Mr Nach would have checked that.

We observed the opposite with Mick Dundee's, when he replaced the goosed exhaust it improved further.

inlet cams are different profile---you going to have to put it right--am not guessing--fact----stripped enough of the v6s to know---it will run but not right--why do you think VX label them it aint for fun :y :y :y
