Can somebody please advise. I bought a micro sd reader so I can copy the pictures from my sd card in my phone and put them on my laptop. The link below is the one I bought, It arrived to so I took my card out of my phone and plugged it into the card reader then into my laptop and a screen opens with three files in it but all the files are empty. Could somebody please tell me what Iam doing wrong or how to check it.

Do you have the correct permissions to view the files, files password protected or hidden?
-
Are you sure photos are being saved to the SD, not on-board memory?

Sorry mate lost me on that one.
Taking it is all my stuff and I have not set any passwords I would have thought it would have just worked. I was wondering if it was a driver or something missing

Leave the micro sd card out, fire up the phone, and see if you can still access the photo's .. my betting is you can and the photos are in the phone memory and not on the SD card.
If you have the cable, connect the phone to the computer as a "disk drive" .. you can then download the photo's directly
Photos are normally stored in a folder called DCIM
HTH

As above, that SD card isn't being used by the phone if that's the only folders you have.

Good to hear its sorted, before you start buying unnecessary Card Readers in the future, download this free bit of software, its a nice simple fast mobile explorer that can be used over Cable, WiFi or Bluetooth without having to install the Mobile Manufactures stuff.

Let's add ES File Explorer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estrongs.android.pop&hl=en_GB) to that so you can browse your entire network from the phone as well.
