Typical, Theres always someone or another ready and waiting to waste ones time.

Would imagine a 3.2 block would weigh a fair amount, Couldn't have been easy to get it out without damaging it  :o

Biggest engine I've transplanted was a 1.7D Endura ford engine with a tripod type device full of rust and holes  ;D

A TD comes out fairly easy, and thats longer and heavier.  I would expect a V6 to be fairly straightforward to remove.

Bloody hard work doing in on your own though, I imagine.

Apart from doing it by myself, the big problem was that the manifold to downpipe nuts wouldn't come off no matter what I tried.
In the end I unbolted the manifolds from the heads, which cost a fair amount of skin & blood.Particularily the n/s which had the sharp ends of all the brake pipes, where the ABS pump had been removed. Brake fluid in cuts don't half sting ;D
Then had to try to remove the engine & box past the manifolds. This proved  exhausting and impossible for several hours. Eventually,I managed to remove one of the cats and manifold down under the car out of the way,and then the engine / box came out - just. Cant remember the last time I was that tired/sore/filthy from head to toe. The cuts & grazes are starting to heal now ;D

I had this problem when I did my head gaskets, where 3 nuts came undone and the last nearside one wouldn't.  >:( The nut rounded in the end where I was trying so hard. So I ended up grinding each side of the nut almost through to the thread and it then came undone. The only way I could get a grinder of sufficient power was a heavy duty craft one, with a flexible shaft and small grindstone. I then had to attach a piece wood to the end of the flexible shaft, due to the depth to the nut and use that for leverage and gradually grind away the nut. I rarely swear, but the Omega and its awkness to work on has me doing that all too often.  :o :o :o :o :o

There were some 2.6 Veccy-Bs, just before they stopped.  The 3.2 Veccy-C manual is a bloody hoot. Until you approach a corner. At least you know you are going to die.

Vectra A is more commonly known to us Brits as the Mk3 Chavalier :y

2.6 Vectra B is post 2001 facelift :y as TB has implied :y
