Recently I opened hood in 2 cars (not Omega)
One of them had broken cable inside, so I just used pliers, it was easy.
Second one:
I removed plastic cover under radiator and could see lock with flashlight. I used screwdriver somehow.

Not doable on the Face Lifts, as the Bumper covers where you need to get to underneath and you cant remove the bumper without having the bonnet up due to the pins under the grill part.  ;)

The bonnet cable recently came detached on my DTi saloon, thankfully my mate managed to pop the bonnet from underneath while the car was on a 4 poster!  8)

Thats how I done it I jacked it up managed to pull abit away of the bottom bit of the front bumper theres no need to take the grill off/ break it off. Just before the rads there alittle bit of plastic just lift it up and you will see the bonnet catch then just pull it to the passenger side then up it come . Im sorry for the bad instrustions but ive got to put a new cable on it tomoz so I will do a proper pic followed by instruction on the maintenance guide.   :y
