My daughter has her gas and electric with Npower. She got married last year but did not advise Npower - account is in her name.
She phoned to ask about £800 credit on her account ( I think this is more due to the idiosyncrasy of their accounting system rather than a genuine credit) but when she said she was now Mrs X they steadfastly refused to speak to her and would not even ask the security questions. Absolute jobs worth joke. So.... I registered online in her maiden name without problem and got the info.

friend of mine was not sent a bill for over a year....she lives on her own and time and again she phoned them and they promised to send her an up to date account..but they never did...so her daughter managed to persuede her to change suppliers which she did..she had stopped her d.d,to them months before thinking they would send her a statement but oh no they didnt and they kicked up about it and demanded payment...She refused...she later found out she was £300 in credit to them so she used that credit up before leaving them............I myself moved into my own house 4 weeks ago and guess who the supplier was...yep it was them so i phoned to tell them who i was and that i had just moved in..the guy then said he would send me a welcome pack out the next day......4 weeks later i still have not received it so yesterday i changed suppliers......i.m.o...this shower must be the worst there is.. >:( >:( >:(

I have same with my father's house - he died in March - still not sorted. Might take your lead on switching again but I only switched to them on that house last year so could have a problem.

So much for Teutonic efficiency, where they have been named the UK's worst supplier several times. :(
