Title: crankshaft sensor 2.6 v6?

Bosch, part number 90540743 according to my file.

Post by: tunnie on 09 September 2013, 12:32:10: It's well known and reported here that Pattern crank/cam sensors give huge variation in results, so much so that OOF only recommends genuine. As saving a few quid with a slightly cheaper one, is often not cost effective as they can fail much quicker. Sometimes not working at-all.

Site listed below, does not appear to list genuine parts. Can easily see that from the oil filters ::)

Given that a car should generally only get through 1 crank sensor in its life, I'd personally pay the extra and get it on trade from a dealer.

MotherT's only started to show signs of failure at 120k or what ever it on now.

It may well be cheaper for op to buy direct from stealers in Derry, but I certainly wouldn't post a link for a pattern crank sensor!

Post by: dbug on 10 September 2013, 15:34:10: Just noticed that although you asked for part no for 2.6 V6, its showing on the left ubder your details that your driver is a 2.5 V6 - the crank sensor for a 2.6V6 is different to the one for a 2.5V6.

For info the TC lists the following for the 2.5V6 engine . . .

2.5i 24v V6 - X25XE 90492006 £87.50 (Retail) £78.75 (Trade) £68.24 (TC)
2.5i 24v V6 - X25XE 90492061 £65.50 (Retail) £58.96 (Trade) £51.00 (TC)
