Title: The Trade Club 85
Post by: Jimbob on 10 September 2013, 07:43:18
Had my letter welcoming me to the 'new' tradeclub.

Im lucky that my local, well trained dealer is still on the list, I dont know how many of us will be so lucky though.

I know the whole Lookers group is staying in as are Baylis (Worcester) currently.

So, as long as that stays, I have a dealer close to work and another not too far from home.

In theory I can get TC from Perry's, but I'd have to go to Burnley. Strange that the last time I went to Wigan, Pauline seemed to think they would continue with TC  :-\

Dispite have 2 VX Dealers within 4 miles, nearest TC to me now is Basildon, 25 miles away, thats a 50 mile round trip, kinda takes the fun out of it now, over a couple of gallons in the Mig. :(

Local Factors currently do me 33% off RRP then plus Vat, which doesn't add up to much but is better than a kick in the teeth, might have to look into Halfrauds TC and bite the bullet.  >:(

I'm sure I've mentioned before that if you go to Charles Warner in Lincoln (Outer Circle Drive) that they give TC discount without even checking membership! I even get greeted as "Mr Autobhanstormer" by the parts manager  :y. Troops in Leadenham don't give it though .......

Had one for a few years now.

Started off pretty good with anthing from 10 - 80 % off things in store but absolutly usless for anything else imo.
Sadly over the last few years, the list of discountable parts is shrinking month on month  :(

Ok for bulbs / filters ect though

It appears that in order for the dealer to qualify for Trade Club, the parts dept. must have a turnover in excess of £50K in trade club customers.

Not all Lookers branches qualify.

Yeh I heard it was 10K a month and they have to place an order with VX every month.
