Can't remember where but seen a photo on here, which had in the background track rod end with copper slip in thread.
I've got a pair of complete new ones arriving, is it worth taking each side apart, coat thread in copper slip and re-assemble?
I'm then heading to WIM to have them fitted, along with a geo session. Thinking copper slip will aid future adjustments?
Thoughts?

You misunderstood. I had (propper) copperslip as well, just in this scenario Ithought grease would be better (though I only had LM)

Ah, yes, gotcha. Yeah, my real Copperslip went, along with my fake copperslip and my LM.

Copaslip is grease with anti seize compunds in it (such as copper particles plus others).
Hence it will work as would normal grease.
The major benfit of Copaslip is that it is good to very high temperatures unlike normal grease and hence its use on braking systems.
Many dont use it on track rod ends due to its increased cost but it will do the job.

Well thanks all again, here one side is (had both done) all slipped up along with a new wishbone. Both are Lemforder.

Really must get to Newent one year :-[
It's been a good weekend every time I've been, but I do have vague memories of one of them though .............. ::) ::) ::)
This years was very quiet in comparison to previous years .......... though there was one family that up'd sticks & left without paying after one night (Fri :-\) we think in protest at the noise ??? ::) ::)
-
I copperslipped mine, assembled them with an old bicyle tube cut to cover the adjusters with enough of an overlap to seal with cable ties after being set up. Two years on they're still adjusting like I've only just fitted them. :y
