Hey guys,
I have read a similar problem in this topic area.
MY Elite year 2000 is getting intermittent ABS TC speedo failure and of course powered steering failure.
I have read that the problem starts like this then will ultimately fail, mine is currently OK when it's cold but even with some sun on the bonnet it will start to play up.
I was also given the impression that it is the ABS ECU that I will need to change, well that's all fine and dandy if you know what one of those look like or even know where it is located! :)
Can anyone confirm my issues and give me some direction as to where the lil blighter is located and also if this part (as I fear) has to be quite exact in it's model number when replacing it.
Cheers,
Andy :)

Its screwed to front of ABS pump.
Sounds like a failing ABS unit. Welcome to my world :'(

Passenger side of engine, below power steering reservoir - the ABS pump is the metal block with all the brake pipes connected. The ecu is bolted to the front of the abs pump, and has a large electrical plug at the bottom. :y

My suspicions confirmed then!
Thanks for the help guys, I will go in search for what appears to be rarer than rocking horse crap :(

The other option is to get yours repaired. I sent mine off to BBA Reman in Kent a few years ago and got it back within a week and it cost about £125 if I remember rightly. :) I expect it's a bit more now though.... :-\

HTH! :)

Thanks for that :)
Is there anyway I can find if a match part is suitable? I have seen a few on ebay but how would I know if it would work?
-
To confirm suitability, check part no - helpfully on bottom of ecu ;) or look for one same model, same trans (auto or manual), ans around same year.

There are 2 types that I know of so far and the spare I have seems not to be the more common one, 0273004599

It's an Omega from the year 2000 & as the TC light is coming on too, it'll be a V6 ;) ;)

Whoops misread year for cc :-[ - wish people would list their car details and location in their profile, or in sig ::)
Believe 2.5/3.0 abs ecu is different part no to 2.6/3.2 though - sure the one for the 2.5 was different to the one Omegod quoted.
Edit - found the part no for the 2.5 - 0273004206
