Just got a custom chipped ecu fitted. Sourced through a mate. Its a chip a guy custom writes lol my mate asked hom to do one for him only with more power. I had a tuning box and it made the world of difference on standard but this brain is phenomenal. Power use to slack of at 3500rpm or lower now its power all the way to 5000rpm. Feels really revy like a petrol. Plus boost feels more aggressive :-D :-D it smokes a tad when under full throttle but very small price to.pay. 10 out of ten, I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. Far better than the tuning box.
Next stop is to sort the exhaust then rolling road

From the feedback I've had from all the people who have had chips from a guy I used to chip my TD is that (properly done) chips are far better than the tuning boxes they'd previously tried.

A map is always going to be superior to a tuning box.
A tuning box modifies a single sensor signal (some two sensors) to fool the ECU into modifying its fuel delivery (e.g. on a common rail they report a lower rail pressure so the ecu delivers more fuel).
A map is able to alter timing, fuel delivery, maximum boost the works.

Dont get me wrong the tuning box was a great improvement on standard but ive went mad with power thirst...... this was got off a guy who breaks omegas. He'd got one before and liked it then asked him if he could rework ifuture chips for even more power and the one I have is the result.
Seriously big change from the tuning box. Scary thing is I know I still have a boost leak that needs sorted. She feels a little dead now and again but see when thats fixed im straight for the rollers. I wasnt quoted what the chip would give me but I bet its easily 155/160+bhp.
