I have had my latest Mig for a few weeks now and when i stop the car, switch ign off and open door to get out,
i get three or four chirps. Is this the power sounder?

Yep pull it out and junk it before it flattens your battery, or at worst bursts into flames ;)

I left it at Stansted Airport for a week and it was fine starting etc. when i got back so does it mean that it still
needs removing, also it only chirps occasionally. Or am i clutching at straws :-\

What is the box of death and what causes it

Alarm powersounder. It lives under the plastic wiper scuttle panel on the drivers side. The internal batteries die after a time (indicated by a chirping noise from that area) and the circuit shorts out somehow. The result of this can be the cars wring loom catching fire and then tking the rest of the car with it.There have been several reports (with scary pics to prove it) of this haapening to OOFers cars over the years.

Yes. Remove it before your car bursts into flames in the middle of the night. It only takes 10 minutes. ;)

No chirps, but maybe I should think about getting it removed. (I don't do my own work)

Is it the one in the owners handbook that states_ Switch ign on then off, you then have 15 secs to disconnect
the battery? ???

Couldn't believe the stories about the powersounder , big learning curve moving from Senators to Omegas.
So far so good, just serviced my MV6, that was cheap enough £150. BUT, always love those words when collecting from garage. Then back in, had to replace front discs & pads, rear pads. Both rear shocks ( leaking badly ) 4 new tyres, knew about all but shocks.
Onwards & upwards   :y
