My rear shocks have been leaking/corroded for quite a while so thinking of getting them changed before the next loaded road trip.
I can get the vauxhall ones for £160 all in. Was expecting them to be a lot more money.

Someone here fitted those shocks and plumbed them in to the self levelling elite system with good results(Cliff something springs to mind) I have a set of them on my 406 but using the pipework/gauge and schrader valve supplied and they do the job fine :y
-
If you can plumb them in to the existing set up then go for it.
CliffoB fitted air bags within the springs to replace the Sl shocks.
Seth might have used the ones on the link.
The Gm ones are cheaper on TC. So it will be interesting to see how long these ones last in comparison.

Aye that was him :y :y

Sounds like an engineering feat fitting air bags within the springs or are they readily available from "pimp my ride"

Ooh now there's a loaded post mr Tidla :o
CliffoB was an engineer, iirc, and now retired uses his omega to transport his sadly disabled wife and her wheel chair. Hence the Estate and self levelling.
The Air bags came from mad catz iirc, as part of thier basic dell purpose range for Caravaners.
Sadly Mad catz management has changed and the person in charge now was extremely in helpfull so I was unable to persue it.
Air bags could well be a good option for big load carrying cars, as they allow the use of normal better damping shocks in place of self levelling shocks. So the ride is unaffected when unlaiden, but only affects spring rates when sl is activated. Damping rates remain unchanged.
It works well on Holden Commodore, but pedders where not helpfull on exploring sales either. Do the idea remains unexplored on omega, other than Clifo's input.
