:o :o :o :o :o
Kind of following on from Mark's post re Tram Crossing Death, do people actually take any notice of what's happening in the world around them?
-
I bet she needed to empty her underwear after that near miss = and the driver would have had a fright too! She probably had earphones in as well :)

Trouser changing time :( Wonder why she went back the other way :-\

There was a story on Huffington post the other day about a couple having sex on a railway line (takes allsorts I suppose).
They got so carried away they didn't notice a train coming. She was killed and he lost both legs. ::)

it wasn't just the train then ....... ::) ::)
-
Wtf did she think the barrier is for?
Or was she filtering around the right side of the traffic, and didn't see the barrier on her side?
Although it looks like she was leaning on the pedals going for it. At least look first, then go for it. If you really must.
-
Be interesting to see the footage from the trains perspective, as I think the camera angle makes it look closer than it was :-\
Still very much the wrong side of retarded though :-\
-
Yes as Andy suggests, how do some people get through life? Its dangerous enough without behaving like a cabbage.
I'm always a bit weary of such a short snippet of footage though.

....
If you watch how close her front wheel is to the track before she has a change of mind, I think she really was that close. :o

That happened in the Ukraine and they weren't a young couple either, but they had been on the vodka. :o :o :o :o

She was so close there were two sets of DNA on her soiled clothing, and one was the train drivers!! :o
The silly bugger will never be so lucky again, but then again the driver will never be the same again! >:(

Nobody feels the barrier is inadequate?
Pets, children, dogs walking their owners, loose live stock, drunk people.... Women. ::)
And I dare say men. All have a habit of doing daft stuff occasionally.
Plus, given the apparently massively over zealous H+S culture we always moan about, surely the crossing should have four gates, rather than one barrier each side. I'm sure the train driver would prefer 4 gates.

My Father-in-Law had a drunk fall off his bike and got wrapped around his bus wheels. Certainly changed him....but the top wags at the depot made him get back into a bus cab and made him drive it., which helped.

As effective a remedy as any, but with a caveat...

If you feel you can beat mega tons of train in a head to head ..... then go for it. A single barrier each side should be good enough. Years ago, a local level crossing used to have an uncontrolled pedestrian gate next to the vehicle barrier for pedestrians, it was up to you when or if you crossed the track. I assume it'd been like that for a long time, but only in recent years was the whole lot changed for four automated barriers.

Wonder when the realisation of just how close she was to being splattered kicked in?
She will never in her whole life be as lucky again!

Now, why have you posted that?
-
....
Now, why have you posted that?
I mean ...... do you really need 4 gates to tell you not to try & cross a track when a train is coming. A train will win every time.
Why do you ask? ::)

Because its a bit rude IMO.
I've already explained why situations could occur where 4 gates might be more suitable.
As I'm sure the driver will agree, especially given to footage we're discussing.

Not at all, you've not read the post correctly or are being deliberately obtuse, suggesting I'm stupid. As highlighted.

Andy, against my better judgement I was happy to work on your car at Newent. I've sat on here as others have and listened to your obtuse version of Wit since the beginning and said nothing. Only recently have I started to understand your humour, and how to deal with it, which is oppsing hard work at the best of times, but fair enough that's your humour. But I won't sit here in the face of that, and be reference to as stupid.
I expect an apology!

Silly woman, why risk it,she ought to be prosecuted for ignoring the lights/barriers >:(
And locked-up too >:(
A few of my train-crew colleagues have experienced these situations ... some become changed characters, and never return to the [train] driver's seat. :'(
