Depends what you need it for Opti. Stihl is by far the best but they are seldom round the £100 mark. You may be lucky and get a second hand one. I use them daily for roofing, timber frames etc but if its only for occassional use then some of the cheaper models can be picked up new for £100 or less

The tight old git is getting his logs in for the winter. Mrs. Opti will, of course, be doing all of the cutting.

Send the butler to Harrods after one of his weekly visits to Fortnum and Mason for life's bare essentials to pick one up, solid gold and diamond encrusted of course, where you have standards to keep up. Just put it on your tab or American Express black card. ;) :P :y ;D ;D ;D ;D

I bought a 16" petrol chainsaw from Aldi about 6 years ago for something like € 100 . It's been used and abused to cut ( tons of ) timber for my stoves for all those years ,never fails to start hot or cold and uses easily obtainable Oregon blades . I have only changed the spark plug and starter recoil spring both standard parts from other machines via local small engine shop. I'm sure I seen them recently with Aldi's three year guarantee.

I have a stihl 08 model chainsaw, the problem is they are not legal for uk work as they have no chainbrake, mines a non starter and I cant get anyone to look at for the above reason ! (they were initially produced in and around 1960 !)

To add insult to injury, I paid 50 notes for my Stihl and it came with a new chain (in the packet), manual sharpening kit, bottle of chain oil and two bottle of two stroke.....plus it had hardly been used!
