I'll be up at 05.45, full English with a couple of pints of Peroni and back to bed at 09.00 ready for roast beef and all the trimmings with a nice bottle of Margaux for lunch, followed by another nap, then out with the dogs for an hour before hitting the pub. Back in time for Downtown SWMBO says and then bed. Senna is a brilliant film she got it me last Christmas on DVD. :y :y

We always watch the bike racing on Eurosport, find the commentators are better personally.Don't know about the BBC coverage but the high definition slow motion pictures shown on Eurosport are awesome.

Ive got the DVD of Senna and have watched it four times, but Ive just watched it again on tv. I find it mesmerising.
Not just the greatest F1 driver ever imo,but a fascinating character.Im sure he would have been something great (such as president of Brazil ?) after he retired.
Highly intelligent, emotional, compassionate, but not a good enemy to make. A fascinating and enigmatic character.
Interesting to note that people in the film including Frank Williams make it pretty obvious that it was at least highly suspected that Schumacher and Benneton were cheating, but it wouldn't be easy to prove.
I wonder if Schumachers tears some time later when he spoke of Senna, were tears of guilt at the fact Senna was killed trying to win against him when he was cheating ?

Yes Its a shame Eurosport can't show the main event live. I find Charlie Cox(?) on the BBC irritating, so wait for the Eurosport coverage instead.

Oh, and the BBC pre race chat is a rubbish IMO. Who are those people?(like I care) :(

And the slow mo's, as you say, are mesmerising. :y

First time I have seen it... can't believe it was 19 years ago :o

You have to wonder why Sennas suspicions about the Benetton team were never raised officially at earlier races, only coming to light in the aftermath of the San Marino race :-\

Aye reading the summary of that season, alot of the penalties and some transgressions were either reversed or overlooked as a result of delayed/incomplete evidence and plausible misinterpretation of the rules :-\

Benetton seemed to get hit hardest with fines, but nothing else ever really came from any of the allegations :-\

There's talk of Red bull having some form of t/c at the moment but don't see how they could tbh as they all use the same ecu ???

No reason why they couldn't, you could impliment a basic form of TC in a fuel pump if you apply a little thought (e.g. look for sudden engine rev rises and then apply a miss fire or similar).

They use the same ECU's which only really limits the singles to the ECU.......and possibly the base software

I don't see why they couldn't fit their own ecu or box of tricks in between the stock ecu and what ever component they want to fiddle with.

Dyno jet have been doing so for years.

First Ive heard of it. :-\
Easy enough to have a form of TC,but is it feasible to have it so that FIA techy bods cant find it,or prove it. ? :-\

Didn't know that. :y
TC theory also very interesting. If that's the case, the FIA should have banned it a long time ago.Its an unfair advantage, and previous unfair advantages (Brabham fan car being one example) were banned almost immediately. Also,if its only fitted to Vettels car - which would explain a lot - its an absolute disgrace from Webers perspective.
Personally I don't belive all F1 teams are cheating when they can get away with it.I believe they all push their interpretations of the rules as far as they possibly can, which isn't he same thing. Adrian Newey is abviously better than the rest at this. The description of the Red Bull TC (if true) is a very good demonstration. He has found a loophole and exploited it,and its then up to the rulemakers to change the rules again to level the playing field.
Imo,man like Frank Williams and Ron Dennis would never be involved in outright cheating. They are racers and sportsmen to their last breath. Dennis was effectively forced out of his own team, and had to pay huge amounts of money in fines, because Alonso told him their was rule breaking taking place at McClaren. Alonso was trying to blackmail him into making Hamilton his number two. Dennis immediate reaction was to pick up the phone and call the FIA technical chief and repeat word for word what Alonso had told  him. If he wasn't an honest man he could have tried to cover it up. Imo,it wouldnt have worked though,as imo he was set up by Mosley,Fisa and Ferrari, aided and abetted by Alonso.                                                                                                                                        What happened at Benneton and Ferrari (same people mostly involved), and much later at Renault (by Briatore, former Benneton team manager) was outright cheating, and shouldn't have been allowed to continue. Briatore was kicked out of the sport, but all the earlier stuff involving Scumacher and his cronies has been swept under the carpet.

Indeed McClaren found a legal way to stall the wing down the straights, until it was banned the following season. Innovation is good for the motor industry and this is why they are going for small turbocharged engines next season, with greater KERS as it reflects the realities of where production cars are going with energy recovery systems to increase mpg.  :y

Manufacturers being able to use F1 and other sports as a conceptual testing ground for stuff that will eventually appear in production vehicles has always helped to attract and keep car manufacturers involved in motorsport.  :y

Saw that  earlier but can't for the life of me work out why his underbody plank isn't buggered by the end of the race, lot of heat being generated there ???

The film (although not necessarily the commentary) for me backs up the theory in the earlier link.I think.  :-\
