hi guys
In need of desperate help.........
Having a diifficult time getting the car to start in the mornings and basically when its cold starts cutting off and misfiring there after when warmed up it seems to be fine
someone told me it could be the coolant temperature sensor? But finding it is a mission looked everywer for it :(
Please can someone advise me as to how or what to try to get this problem resolved?

nope not losing coolant @ all although my car heat gauge goes up to 90 degrees before the fan comes on?
Thanks for the pic andy managed to find it but very difficult to remove any tips on how to do so?

Sorry, I have a V6 & haven't worked on a 4 pot ...... if it's any consolation, it's a bu66er to get to on a V6 too ::) ;) ;)

If the temp gauge goes up to 90 and the fan comes on, that would suggest that the temp sensor is OK. :-\
Sounds more like an ignition problem to me. Have you checked your plugs and leads? :)

Desmond has single coil pack... worth taking that out and checking the plug wells for water, as that could evaporate once warmed up. If plug wells are dry then the next stop weould be the coil pack itself :y

I hacve changed the ect sensor and my car seems to be fine now

Nope, ecu and gauge sensors are two totaly seperate items.
Fan switch is seperate again and rad mounted.
Only sure way to check the ecu temp snesor is with live data and a suitable scan tool.
