HI Guys, I have been trying to search ebay for some new imports to bring in here (NZ) and havnt been able to search ebay-com or UK i sent of a question to ebay and got this in reply: They have now completely banned all international buyers from buying or even viewing Ebay motors vehicles!!?? have you guys been included in this? What a bunch of morons
Reply from Ebay:
Dear ###, eBay Motors is a great program that allows our members to buy and sell vehicles. However, the program is limited to our members in the United States and Canada only, at this time. The costs of shipping a vehicle internationally are prohibitive, and could cost more than the vehicle. Additionally, most vehicles are not shipped, the buyer picks the car up, or the seller delivers it to them. So you won't be able to purchase a vehicle on eBay at this time, but we truly appreciate your interest.
Specifically, the independent service provider that offers protection for vehicle protection, or Vehicle Purchase Program (VPP) only protects transactions where the seller, buyer, and vehicle are all located in the US or Canada. Since buying a vehicle internationally would not be protected, we do not encourage our buyers to purchase in such a manner. This is why we do not allow you to see that listings, simply because we cannot promote sales that are not protected.
For more information concerning VPP, here is a great link: http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors/buy/purchase-protection/index.html
As you know, our sellers offer literally thousands of items for sale on eBay, so we encourage you to browse the listings on eBay. I am confident you will find many items you wish to purchase and are available to you in New Zealand. We have customized our site so your search results are automatically filtered so you won't search for items that can be shipped to you, it is already done for you! We work hard to make eBay as user-friendly as possible, and we hope you'll enjoy using the site

Retards mate!!! That's what they are!!!! ::) Two observations I've noted about ebay recently are.
1) It's now harder to find international ebay sites. You used to be able to scroll down to the bottom of the home page and just click on the countries flag for the site you wanted. No more!!
2) In ebay motors on the UK site you can't search for a specific car model, there's the manufacturer, the year etc but no model selection Doh!!! I emailed them and they replied that it was a glich and it was being sorted. That was about 10 days ago.....
Retards!!! >:(

Worthy of note, but not sure if the issue is a local one :-\

All you have to do is register as a new user on the foreign site, rather than use your own-country login
If there's a problem with your IP address being foreign, so it rejects you, use a US/anonymous proxy server.
Course, you can't keep your feedback, but you don't need that for buying
:y

My login still works on both Ebay.com and Ebay.de, so not really sure what the problem is :-\

Its not the log in or account thats the problem; its they now wont let you (international buyer) buy or even "view" any of the Motors section, cars trucks aircraft etc except spare parts "because its to expensive for you to ship or you wont be viewing in person" etc (read the reply I received from them above) Ive imported hundreds of vehicles from all around the planet most without viewing in person and i know exactly the cost to ship! The reason they have done this is to try and stop scams etc so instead of letting the buyer accept a bid they have now put a total ban on international buyers! They have forgoten what the site is there for in the first place!!
Bye bye Ebay!

Pick either of the two cars I linked to, I can log in on the item pages no issues at all :y
Even lets me bid ::)

yes i can follow from the link you posted but when I now "search" the exact same car (cut and paste) it wont show, only parts. The .AU works for me though because im in NZ!

Must be a local issue :-\ NZ to Oz and vice versa is the same as US to Canada, treated as effectively single markets,so what works in one applies to tother :y
Also, looking at it, NZ doesn't have its own ebay site :-\

No ive checked, its mostly worldwide (with a few exceptions) although it looks like the UK hasnt been added...yet! theres a heap of other of the same complaints online not just from us "down here" PS our version of ebay is Trademe.co.nz

My login still works on both Ebay.com and Ebay.de, so not really sure what the problem is :-\
But it's a UK login - so anything that the bay don't want you (as a UKian) to look at, they can block (like the adult section :-X )
Easiest workaround is to set up a new USAian login - by registering as a new user directly on ebay.com

If you click 'Cars' and then the manufacturer on the right hand side, there is then no option to choose the specific model..... ::)

Click Motors and there is, but only for 1 page, just checked it and as soon as I tried to go to 2nd page became very general, tbh is that is how it is going to be I would not be using ebay to look for cars unless I was looking for something very special, what a shame..... :( :(

I know. It used to be very easy to do a specific vehicle search on ebay but alas no more..... :( As our Kiwi friend has pointed out, it seems that there have been a few changes at ebay and not much for the better! :-\
Maybe TB's antipathy is well placed after all!! ::) ;D

Well I don't know what is going on, it went to general cars so I thought I would have a look, but limited my search to Auto, suddenly back to Omegas and 1 full page of them, so I have no idea what is going on; some nice Migs though...... ;) ;)

....im still looking for the Adult section! :D

I just received a reply from the muppets: I asked (again) why cannot I now search or view Aircraft in Ebay motors, same reply "to expensive to Ship"... join the dots!? ::)

I suspect that they know they have problems, and the replies you are getting are muppet generated 'cut and paste' of the type that we get in so-called 'answers' from our MP's. >:( >:( >:(

Can you get round it by creating an ebay account for the country in question?
