(2001 elite) hi all on the estate roof aerial there are 3 wires one of which is a thin black one and the other 2 are the same size and are black, one of them is the aerial, could the other one be the phone gsm wire they go to the kick plate in drivers foot-well where there is one connector and the grey aerial wire comes out the other side to the head unit and the other black wire is in what looks like a brown plug is just sat in there ready for a connector by the look of it some help would be great thanks

It's a photo/video hosting site - Most Forums request you upload images/video's to a hosting site so it doesn't clog up their webspace.

yes finally did it the black cable is that the gsm connector the other is the radio

There's 2 blacks to the roof, one is GSM other is GPS, grey is AM,FM  :y

when i took the aerial base out of roof today there was 3 black cables 2 the same and a small black one the little black one at the roof is the red and white one in the photo, at the connector 1 of the black comes out the other side grey witch is the radio whats the black one in the photo for?

Grey cable = FM
Black cable = GSM
Red/white = switched feed for radio
Connector for GSM is a "Fakra"

Simplest way is to remove HU & cage and thread the cable from there across and down to kickpanel

You will need the Male / Female equivalent to mate it to the correct coax cable, knowledge of how to strip the cable and crimp the connector and the correct Crimp Tool.

Seeing as you have pulled the plug from its housing you may as well just get yourself an inline crimp type one, then Tape or Amalgamate it afterwards.
