Title: Goodbye old friend...
Post by: llewellyn237 on 06 November 2013, 19:49:25
My old faithful 2.2 CD Auto took its final journey today... to a breakers yard to become an organ donor  :'(

You were a fantastic car... thirsty, long, heavy, expensive... but I loved you!

RIP

Yeah, I suppose.

She was classed as a "mechanical write-off"! Needed far too much work and money to go on living.

I'm thinking of an Insignia to replace her... using my Forces discount at Vauxhall.

Haha!

Mechanical issues aside, LOTS of things started to go wrong. Just a string a minor issues to add to her misery.

It was a tough decision and it took me weeks to finally admit her life was over.

Not something I'm capable of.

I did make sure she became on organ donor instead of a large cube.

My 3.2 breaker also went to the graveyard today. Not much left on there for them to take off and sell. straight into the crusher I would imagine.

When mine was winched onto the transporter last week for it's trip to the insurance compound,my eye's were a  little moist, not crying but nearly, after all we were together 8 years.
Driving a VW Polo at the moment, until something bigger comes along.

She'd done almost 175,000.
