How do I remove the coolant pipes going into the bulkhead please?
I've no heating at all, so trying the flush that is recommended. Can access the pipes by hand, but can't work out how they're held in place?
They rotate and feel like a metal clip at the end of the rubber pipe holding onto the pipe work in the bulkhead?
TIA :y

Clear concise instructions in the maintenance guide. :y ;)
They are abit confusing first time around so best reading the guide.
From my experience ensure all small breakable bits are out the way especially the small T valve on the brake servo vacuum pipe as big hands and pulling in a tight space may break them . ;)

Scrub that, found the guide! Lol.
We'll there wasn't much crud in there. Flushed both ways twice. Put back together now gonna run the car and warm her up and see if that fixes it.
If not, any suggestions? ???

Right, that didn't work :'(
Flushing completed, engine running normal temp, system bled.....still no heat from vents?
Next step please? ???

Forgot to mention, pipes into rad and coolant tank all hot. Both pipes into bulkhead cold :(
-
could be the hbv. is the vac pipe connected to the top of it. are the hoses hot at the hbv?
-
Slow down john, you know I'm not a mechanic, lol. I need to look up what a HBV looks like and where to find it first, lol. ;)
Looking it up now :y

Ok John.
The 2 pipes on the left of the HBV are cold. The single pipe on the right is hot and the vac pipe is on.
Does that mean the HBV is dead? ???
-
Probably.
At a tenner for a new one, it would be a good place to start.

Spoke to my local stealers, 46.44 inc for the HBV.
Is it advisable to stick with genuine ones or after market just as good?

gen tbh dave, but saying that, ive had 1 or 2 from vauxhallworldparts & they seem ok. :y

before condeming the HBV, whip the vac pipe off the top, (plug the vac pipe with a small screw) leaving the HBV "open" and see if you get heat then.
Vac turns the heat OFF under certain circumstances, no vac = hot water flow by default... so if the pipes stay cold with no vac then the HBV is pretty much the fault... if they get hot then it could be something else ....

Now confused (easy I know)!!
Just driven down the road and I have warm air coming out of the centre dash vents?? First time ever, but all the other vents are still blowing bloody cold air >:(
Yesterday and this morning on the way to work, all cold air even with setting on high, now this ??? ??? ???
All I have done so far is flush the matrix, nothing else. Not had a chance to check the vac pipes yet.
-
Climate control reset?,worth a try, can't remember which two buttons to press though :-[
-
Tried the reset on the CC, no difference.
So far I can get warm air blowing out of the central vents only and everywhere else ice cold. Gonna try the tip regarding the vac pipe after college tomorrow.
The other thing I noticed, is there is hardly any air blowing on the drivers side windscreen, passenger side great. This is when its set to windscreen and on full blast.
Is this all tied in or more gremlins lurking? :-\
TIA :y
