Title: Help needed if possible?
Post by: blackviper90210 on 12 November 2013, 11:33:27
Having a major headache with the drivers door lock  >:(

The remotes don't work (another job), so using the key the central locking unlocks but the drivers door doesn't. With a lot of swearing, cursing and almost breaking the key in the lock turning it, it finally unlocks the door. The door pin doesn't move though.

As I am pretty bloody useless at mechanical objects, is there anyone available to help fix this  problem please?  :'(

TIA :y

It would seem that your drivers door latch has broken in the deadlocked position hence the problem you are having unlocking it,a replacement latch assembly from one of the breakers here should sort it :y

Cheers for that. There is a breaker locally to me, so will see if I can get the latch from there.  :-\

It's a complete lock assembly you need. The three Torx drive counter sink screws on the edge of the door hold the lock in place, obviously you have to remove the locking bars etc from inside the door too. Easy enough to do .... honest.  ;)

I haven't had this issue personally so haven't had to change a lock assembly. I've had to do many other Omega jobs though as you do! As a local OOF member (Hagley) I'll help you change it if needed. I have torx tools etc.

That's kind of you Sir!

Just spoke to the breakers yard and he's got a lock mechanism on a f/l cdx £15, so will pick that up after college on Thursday.

When are you free to spare your time?

Cheers, Dave

I can do Friday morning if it helps or otherwise sometime next week to suit. Drop me a PM if you wish and we can sort it out.
