Title: You snooze, you lose..
Post by: aaronjb on 20 November 2013, 13:33:42
Spotted a very nice looking 2.2DTi estate (CD spec) on Autotrader the other day; £1500, 75,000 miles, looked immaculate, only 9 miles away..

Thought "I'll save that for Friday and give them a call"..

Too slow!

If anyone spots one...  ;)

Fix the one you've got Aaron. Repairs will cost a lot less than £1500.

I know you're right .. the bodywork issues are starting to annoy me though and, well, actually the whole car is starting to annoy me. I was actually almost tempted by Al's suggestion of giving him the car and getting it back in spring with a large bill ;D Then again it's Al, he'll have driven it into the back of a lorry by then... ;D ;D

Al pointed me to Steve @ OmegaSpares getting a complete car in but I've been so run off my feet at work I haven't had chance to call him :( It's probably in bits by now..

In the mean time, this popped up on the 'trader: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201311300244487/sort/default/usedcars/page/1/make/vauxhall/fuel-type/diesel/radius/1501/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/postcode/rg129qf/saved-search-id/2c9218274274f301014275a2b5da0005/body-type/estate/model/omega?logcode=pp&atcide=emc-cars-SSA008

Basically perfect aside from being miles away, no self levelling (not really an issue, honestly) but has everything else I could want including Xenon lights.

But that price.. without a full service history even?  :o

Nothing a clutch won't sort out...

I wonder... an older Merc 5 speed with the selector levers outside the box, connected to the auto selector lever and no clutch pedal... do you think Aaron would notice ::)
