Title: JFK -50 Years On
Post by: Lizzie_Zoom on 21 November 2013, 18:50:54
Tomorrow a lot of us who were around 50 years ago will remember this event as though it was yesterday.  A history changing moment when the President of the United States of America, John F. Kennedy, was assassinated in Dallas Texas.  It was a shocking moment, and the World changed.

We remember him, probably not exactly the "King Arthur" that the Americans, and others elsewhere at the time thought, but if only his Presidency had been allowed to go full term.........................................................history will never know, and only counter factual history that some consider interesting will ever suggest what could have been.

Last week I watched a very well researched and highly plausible documentary on the exact sequence that took place in Dallas..............no massive conspiracy as such...............no political "Hidden Game" to kill JFK.  No, just the simple explanation, fully backed up by evidence; statements by witnesses; research by an Austraian detective; medical facts backed by doctors reports.

It is that after Lee Harvey Oswald fired one shot that missed, another that hit Kennedy, a FBI agent, Hickson, rose to his feet in a following FBI open top car to return fire on Oswald, reached down to lift up a pre-prepared high powered rifle firing fragmenting bullets (not the type used in Oswald's gun), as he did so the car lurched forward to race up to JFK's car and Hickson accidentally pulled the trigger and fired a bullet that went forward over the car in front and straight into the back of JFK's head, blowing a large piece of skull out as the bullet exploded in his head and fragmented.

There then followed up a rapid, major , and understandable cover up by the FBI as can you imagine them having to admit to killing the President of the United States?

This version of what really happened explains the 'third shot', the angle of the bullet entered JFK's head, how his skull was smashed, and the strong smell of gun powder at ground level, alongside the cavalcade, that a number of witnesses commented on.

After 50 years of wondering this is, for me, a conclusive explanation that allows it all to go into history without further talk of major conspiracies. Just blood on an unfortunate FBI agents hand, and a natural cover up by that secretive organisation!

RIP John F. Kennedy.  God Bless America. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

He was almost as incompetent in the oval office as Obama is. Even took the world to the brink of nuclear war.
The first major politician who was a triumph of style over substance, and unfortunately he set a trend which has given us he likes of Clinton,Blair,Cameron, Obama etc.
Was indeed a big shock though that he not only was murdered in broad daylight, but possibly murdered by his own governments agents.
Pity MI5 didn't follow suit sometime just after 1997. :D

I've never had anytime for him or his family, where socialism is a corrosive source on the cohesiveness, freedom and the wealth of societies, except for those leaders that exercise it like Blair, Clinton, Obummer etc, who use it to enrich themselves and their like minded cronies at the expense of everybody else in society including the poorest.

Err isn't Obama organising healthcare for the poor? Something other developed countries have as a given.

No, it was the Soviets who took the World to the brink of nuclear war.  They shipped nuclear missiles into Cuba, right on the door step of the USA.  It got the reaction from Kennedy that you would expect.  However, Kennedy was so shaken by what had nearly transpired that HE initiated the "hot line" to Moscow so that in future any president could speak to the Soviet leader, and visa versa, to greatly improve communication before a crisis could form. Kennedy was also very keen to stop the arms race between the USA and USSR, but he met with significant opposition to that from the latter.

It is also considered by some historians, based on some documentary evidence, that Kennedy possibly was considering pulling the USA out of the Vietnam conflict during 1964. We will never know what could have happened, but Kennedy should have had his day to prove what seemed to be a great presidency in the building.

Kennedy would have been a peacemaker, but he 'ran out of time' to really establish his worth.  A I stated before, World history changed on the 22nd November 1963, and not for the better. :'( :'( :'( :'(

As a mere whippersnapper who wasn't even a glint in his father's eye at the time, I can't really understand all the fuss to be honest!  :-\

From what I understand his foreign policy was pretty poor ie The Bay of Pigs debacle and he was the fourth President to be assassinated, so it wasn't like it was unprecedented....  ::)  It seems that Americans have a fine tradition of trying to assassinate their Presidents!  :o  ;D

Maybe it's just that all Democrat Presidents are hailed as some sort of Messiah...  :-\  Having said that it was a tragic thing to happen.  :(

He was massively popular, by the looks. About to be re elected?

Its a hugely shocking event. With live footage. ...regardless of any political stand point, to see such a popular figure murdered in front of so many people there just to see him, and his wife sat beside him.... If that's doesn't move you, nothing will.

Shocking. Utterly shocking. :(

I've seen a few documentaries on JFK and there's a lot of fishy things....the Americans since the dawn of time do ''incidents shrouded in controversy'' the best. The FBI shooting JFK erroneously...who knows...but it sounds just as bizarre as the conspiracy theories that knock about; not saying it's not what happened but a documentary won't convince me either way as there are plausible things for all arguments.

I read the other day (again, newspaper so how do you know what to believe?  ::)) that some top scientist has called for the exhumation of the body for proof of the bullet hole in the head from the grassy knowle vantage point.... it will of course never happen.

I've been to the book depository museum and stood on the grassy knowle. So cool to be standing somewhere that's a very famous part of history.  :y

Wow. That must have been an enthralling visit Webby. :y

My understanding of entry and exit wounds, apart from being based on pure hearsay, is that an entry wound is small, but exit wounds are massive, like when a brick blows out the other side when drilling through a wall. (Apologies for the rather gruesome analogy)

So, although the president recoiled "back and to the left" ...

Well, try this for an explanation.

that youtube link/video proove nothin.. because there are more wounds in Kennedy and Connoly that tells different things with the number of shots angles etc.. jfk film tells many details about it..

Indeed, the "back and to the left" theory implies a shooter from the direction of forward and right. Hence the grassy Knowl. Who ever he is ;D

But that video implies the back and to the left is possible with the shooter from behind, as the more messy exit wound implies, but apparently in contradiction of the presidents movements on impact. Bless him.

There in lies the confusion IMO. :(
