Title: On my regular 400 mile round trip from...........
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 24 November 2013, 18:42:03
.......Lincolnshire to Powys, the trip computer on my MV6 invariably reads between 30.5 and 32.5 MPG. :y :y

Well, I replaced the air filter before I went this time, because it hadn't been changed for yonks, and was as black as Obama's arse.

Result.......28.8 MPG. :'( :'( :'(

I suppose I should be grateful because back in the 'mists of time' I once owned  a 1976 Triumph 2500S.

It sucked through twin SU carbs and after a 'service'  ::) ::) with the colourtune, would return about 13 MPG.

At times..... ::) ::)

It does run very cold though and the temperature gauge barely gets off the stop in normal running. :(

I remember the first time I changed one which was on Laidback66's car in front of his house, spent nearly an hour looking for the stat to block bolts, he then produced them from his bloody pocket whilst saying 'ooopppss'
