My little job for this weekend is to begin getting my old 2.25 Ltr. diesel Series 3 'Landy' working again.....It`s been stood SORN`ed for three years now; It`ll never be 'roadworthy' again, but I intend to use it as a general workhorse (burning Red-Diesel) about the farm/homestead.
The clutch slave cylinder leaks (got one new off eBay; £8.) rear brake pipes have rusted/burst and the battery has become un-rechargeable......nothing I can`t fix; an oil/filter change, grease all those nipples etc......the weather should be dry, but it`ll be a dirty job doing the clutch slave-cyl!. and lube-job. ;)
What`s everybody else doing this weekend?
-
Nothing, given what you are doing, made me tired reading it. ;D ;D ;D
-
not much,but if you need a hand with the greasing.............yes i know,coat. ;D ;D

Gotta to do some garden work in the morning, i.e cut grass and hedges etc. Do a run to the tip with recycling, garden waste etc. Wife bought me a chimnea for our wedding anniversary; so, weather permitting, get that fired up up late afternoon with barbecued food and copius amounts of beer planned!

Me and Tonygnome changed mine last night without any trouble.

Watching your efforts last week, I reckon the brake pipes will be your biggest issue ;D

I like "Ronnie" and those grunty wheels/tyres; `looks great! :y
My 1982 S3 Landy is an ex. GPO swb van with a Fairey front p.t.o capstan-winch.
I think `I also might end up replacing a NSF leaf spring too (when finances permit) as it`s sitting 'low' in that corner.
Working on the Landy is so basic.....old fashioned nuts and bolt 'mechanicing', no technology to make it complicated.
`Tis a dirty old beast to work on though. ::)
I have a Sankey .75 Ton ex. M.O.D trailer to partner the Landy which I found to be very practical go-anywhere combo around the homestead....and the reason I want the S3 Landy operational again.

Picked up the new MV6 shocks this morning.
Changed the oil, oil filter, air filter and fixed a split air intake pipe. Made a big difference and sorted out that lazy lifter tappet-ty sound I was getting occasionally on start up.
Tomorrow I'm finally going to get the bike out of the garage and take a decent ride out. I'm down to take part in the London to Brighton cycle ride in mid-June. I haven't ridden my bike and been smoking fags for the last year. I'M TERRIFIED NOW! I hope I haven't left it too late to get ready to handle the 55mile ride. :-/
Edit:
Oh and I took my daughter to see Avril Lavigne in concert last night. I must admit I didn't know who she was, but I was really quite impressed. She's a proper musician who writes her own stuff and plays loads of musical instruments. The music was quite broad in its range too. She even got the lights down and sat and did a short set of acoustic numbers. I was expecting teeny-bop stuff, but left feeling quite chuffed at my daughter's taste.
I even had one of those moments when I sat watching my daughter standing up, waving a light stick and singing all the words to the songs; it brought tears to my eyes as I remembered her being born and now she's turning into an independant woman. Great evening.

i bought 100 fags on thurs afternoon, got 8 left out of pk i bought this afternoon, got so much ticking away in the head at moment, my knuckle has swollen again badly and my shoulder is killing me from using 36volt sds drill for 4 days. :(

Great, isn't it --- grief ... I am tearing up thinking back to mine !!!!
My daughters are all independant (well -- they try to be --Dad still bankrolls them now and again ....one in particular!!!!). Have their own homes and families ...... now I have an 18month old son at home, bit of a miracle baby. It's great watching him grow ( and he already loves cars!)

the problem with kids is you cant switch off, if your like me a constant worry, i ring them if there not here to see what there up to, worse since my eldest got mugged last yr and the 3 of them got away with it, and the small one kicked off his bike and smashin his face and arms up. i try to be a good dad and teach them whats right and wrong, and to respect others.
