i pulled into a local garage and filled my tank from empty to full for £54.76, then while paying found that one of my coins was a rare roman one worth millions. on the way out i found out that pamela anderson has got into the passenger seat all hot and steamy.
we drove to a tropical paradise and had some fun for days and while there the queen bumped into me and gave me a knighthood and some land rights.
i told my girlfriend the story weeks later and she called me a downright lier where the hell would i get that much petrol for under £55 !!!!!! ;D ;D

cost me just a tad over £76 to fill up the other day, 2.5 v6
sister drives a 4.4 v8 X5 and cost her from empty to brimmed just over £28. something she takes too much enjoyment in rubbing my nose in.

When I was into the yankie cars in the 80's my mate bought a Chrysler le Baron and because it had a bit of an electrical problem he left it running at the petrol station whilst he filled it up.

As he was filling it up from the gauge being in the red he was watching the gauge but couldnt see it it going up.  So he turned the engine off to continue filling up.

He nearly died when he ended up putting 24 Gallons of fuel in it  The week after we found out it had a 25 gallon tank.  He averaged 8 Mpg arround town and 12 MPG on a run.  He filled it up once more and sold the car before it needed filling up again.

Dar'nt even work out the cost of 24 Gallons at todays costs.

I filled our diesel x5 up last week it cost £111.73, and the light wasn't on when I started. What did she fill it with, must be LPG?

Thanks Skruntie!   Yes just under 35p (ex-tax) under 50p inc. in 1971!
 :y

The petrol was for my Austin Farina A40, which I had to spend a further 10/- (50p) on for a gallon of oil per 10 gallons of fuel!  (blown piston rings and tappet seals, which I eventually replaced) :P

she lives out in dubai, payin less than 30p a litre, even tho they ship out crude oil and import nearly 80% of their fuel. amazes me how big the difference is in fuel prices.

Did a run from Sussex to just just north of Perth a month or so back for some Salmon Fishing and had to put in almost a hundred quids worth of LPG in each direction...dread to think how much that would have been in unleaded

I have just come back from a weekend in Warrington and done exactly 454 miles from starting with a full tank, just filled up again in tesco... £77 for 60 litres. The cost of fuel is really starting to hurt now  >:(

Just bought a Peugeot 205 diesel for my son - I'll be using it whenever he doesn't need it!  Don't know what the consumption figures are, but I don't think I filled the last one up more than about 3 times in the year we had it.

I travel 25 miles to work, but I car pool with 3 others.  It's about 3 miles to where we meet, and I think I use just about the same amount of petrol on days when I'm not the main driver as when I am.  The Omega is very, very thirsty for 3 mile journeys!  So it's the Peugeot from now on when I'm not the designated driver.

Always assuming I can get it away from the brat...
