Title: write offs
Post by: tidla on 12 December 2013, 17:50:29
Customers daughter has twanged her little corsa on a 05 plate. Got paid out and i believe they have bought the vehicle back.

I dont think theres much damage. Been a long time since i put a salvage car back on the road , remembering some of the threads on here its no longer just a case of it being recorded.

What else is involved and ignoring the repair cost, what other fees?

(should of gone in car chat..)

Before a new V5C (log book) is issued it will need a VIC .. V5C only needed when you come to sell the car. Getting insurance can be a tad "awkward" to say the least . and expect premium to be higher .. although how driving an insurance write off increases "risk" I have no idea .. :(

Did they class the damage as a cat C or D total loss?

If it's a Cat D it should come with the V5C and MOT so it's just repair and drive, a CAT C will need a VIC check
