Title: Volvo issue?
Post by: Del Boy on 13 December 2013, 17:35:34
Just got a 2003 Volvo S60 R, when turning right engine cuts power and the TC light flashes on the dash, straighten up and it pulls like a train again? Anyone got any ideas?

Turn constantly left. Your journey may be longer but you'll get there in the end.
Next problem.

Steering affecting/fouling the abs sensor cable? Or the cable is damaged?

Intermitant wheel speed sensor signal fools the ecu into thinking the wheel has stopped turning so it cuts engine power.

Had similar on her old polo. Caused havoc with the electrics.

Good old fashion torque steer?

Better tyres and less throttle :P

ABS wiring to the osf wheel is a pretty sensible shout though :y

Its not got two different sized tyres on the front or the same size but large variation in tread depth?

I've just picked it up now, was pretty vague earlier, getting these faults: Anti-Skid Service required and Active Chassis Service also comes on, it's got 19" alloys on it not factory tyres do have odd depths. It's AWD being the R model. ABS sensor/similar related issue I was thinking too.

Any acces to live data on the abs? See what wheel speed is doing on that corner.

Volvo diagnostics are a bit obscure iirc though. Not sure if a generic will work :-\

That only works if you set off in roughly the right correct direction ::)

weak or broken spring/shockabsorber would be my guess, slightest weightloss would alow the wheel to spin? sound likely?
