Just found this for one code:
P1700 - CAN SVS REQUIREMENT
P0170 - Fuel trim fault
-
Don,t see how thiis would put it into limp mode.
Could there be a gear selector fault?
-
Did you touch the gearbox? or was the head work done with the engine in the car?
Certainly worth checking that the selector switch is behaving itself but I think you need to start by checking the things that were disturbed when the head came off.
- are all the connectors securely connected to the correct sensors?
- are all the earth wires solidly fixed to their correct earthing points?
4 pot cam sensors are famous for bringing up random can-bus errors which give misleading diagnosis. It can also prevent the engine ECU from giving a sensible engine speed signal to the gearbox ECU. The gearbox ECU then gets upset and lights up all the selector lights.
My money is in the cam sensor but start by checking the sensor plugs and wiring........
