Not being ofhay with the workings of a F/L need some guidance on the boot release button on dash.
The boot releases with the key fob with doors either open or closed but how should the boot release when the button is pressed,as any amount of attempts fail to open it...wife got quite annoyed when comimg out of shop in rain and me sitting in the car thinking all I neede to do was stay in the dry and just push a button ;D

Press and hold for about 5 seconds (it's a 'feature' apparently not a bug.........)
It is in here somewhere (on page 57) Facelift owners handbook (http://images.omegaowners.com/documents/UserGuides/OmegaOct2002.pdf)

Cheers Andy.
Will have a closer look in the morning, assume that it only releases with ign off as this computer is very very slow toninght and download you kindly linked is not playing ball :(

Early facelifts wouldn't open with the engine running but it was changed for later cars - have a read of Hillpers boot mod (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=90516.0)
My 2003 Elite will open using the dashboard button with the engine running. I don't think I have ever got it to open using the button on the key with key still in the ignition though. :-\

Curioisty got the better of me ,so despite it raining,I just nipped out to try ;D
Boot opens when button is held for approx 5 seconds with either ign on or off..earlier today I must of just been giving it a quick push so hence not opening.
As back in the warm and dry now will leave investigating if it works on the fob button with ign on till morning.
Cheers again Andy :y

Early facelifts needed key out of ignition, and then a quick press
Later facelifts just need a 3s press, ignition status irrelevant

That button fooled me as well when I first got mine, took it back to the dealer & complained, felt a complete idiot after he showed me how to open it.

Got the hang of it now,and much to the delight of the driver ( me :y) I don,t even need to get out the car to open the boot when SWTSMBO returns from the shop :o whilst I sit in the warm enjoying Planet Rock ;D

hehe....
Weve had the sedan since 2010, always thought that it was something wrong with the button, but it still signals that boot is open....
The dealer could not either get it to work...
NOW when we are selling the car I find this thread..... ::) :y
