Hi guys.
Ok, struggled to get fluid in to the auto box sump using just the extendable nozzle on the bottle.
I saw in the guide that the chap used this to fill it up...
http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/power-tools/painting-decorating-power-tools/Cuprinol-Fence-Sprayer-11517562
is it just a case of removing the spray gun and pumping it up will force the fluid out?
Sadly I cant use the ramps at school to do this :( so ill be buying this to do the work :)

.......
Yes.
I filled mine though by screwing a suitable sized plastic tube into the fill/level hole, route the other end into the engine bay & stick a funnel into it. Fill a bit at a time a make sure it all goes into the gearbox ....... it makes a mess on the drive the tube comes out of the g/box ........ apparently! ::) ::) ::)

;D ;D ;D
I planned on jacking it up and holding the pipe in whilst some other mug a buddy pumps away

I used a Wilko £6 garden sprayer. Easier than pissing around with 1l bottles, around the hot exhaust. I'd tend you mine, only it was plastic, and melts easy ;D

If the plastic pipe is the right size, it'll hold itself in and you can fill the box using gravity or the garden sprayer. ;)

'dangle berries', I forgot to put it on my loss list. Grrrrr.

plastic tubing is a couple of quid per 3' 3 3/8" ;)

I used a bit of garden hose and a funnel in the engine bay. But garden sprayer was easier.

I use a fence sprayer, holds 8ltr put the pipe in the gearbox, pump it up and just watch the fluid disappear :y

Already got that Andy....had to buy a couple of metres when experimenting with the oil extractor. :y
Really wanted it on ramps as, although admitting weakness, I hate getting under the Omega. Fekking thing scares the shit out of me. However luckily the autobox sump isn't as far inwards from the side as I thought.... I can JUST about get to the level plug with my hand and only half my face under the car ::)

Despite the axle stands and ramps, I'd still get the willies getting underneath that!! :-\ :-[
Mines got a nice scuff on the front bumper just like yours!!! :)

It was steady as a rock :y :y :y

The photo is a few years old and has since been sorted. I bought the car with the scuff & in my naivety thought that the bumper would be made up of several bits like a Senator's bumper was ....... they're not though. ???

I used a 1 ltr box fluid bottle with a pipe pushed in almost to the bottom. Think it was a wine siphon pipe that was a tight fit through the top
Used it to suck the old fluid out and then filled with new and squeezed, fluid goes uphill. Still got it in my garage for next time. Cost £0.
I did have the car up on a lifter so a bit easier than lying under the car and doing it
I seem to recall someone posted a picture of one you can buy, that's where i got the idea from.

i think it is a cuprinol one, i just cut the sprayer end of. Then you just give it half a dozen pumps,to build the pressure up and whoosh out it comes.

Exactly what I was thinking! cheers mate :y
to sir tigger and andyb....
I'd be a lot more confident with that set up you've got there andy, especially as those stands look like the big 3 ton each ones.... but I, like ST, get pretty nervous about going under the car full stop. I think its cos of the weight. ive got no issie going under fiestas and astras at school all day long but the omega... :'( maybe its just in my head.

Cant seem to get mine up on the ramps , the ramp pushes away from the wheel if you try and drive forward onto them :( Would help if the hand brake worked ;D

That's what those galvanised extensions are for ;) They hook onto a lower rung of the rampto give a shallower angle so the wheel meets the ramp before the lower edge of the spoiler does. ;)
