From 7pm for five hours. Are they really going to just walk off the job?
Old lady has been trapped by floodwater for eight hours. FB get to her and stick her in a boat at 18:55. At 19:00 they are mid-stream. Do they just let her float away with a promise to return and find her at midnight, no matter how far she drifts? ;D
Unless, of course, she makes it to the next county. Then she's somebody else's problem.

The FBU are Neanderthals. There should be no strikes allowed by essential services - abuse of power.

Abuse of power? A bit like saying mp's shouldn't get an 11% payrise I suppose....
At least the FBU and amb service can withdraw their labour. Police and military just simply get shafted without even the benefit of a bit of spit or a reach around......

...... And nurses and NHS in general.

They have my support, having been in the emergency services the powers that be should not be allowed to mess about with pensions that are included in employment terms & conditions that have been agreed.

Absolutely agree with the above.
I've got a mate who's in the fire service, and the change in the pension arrangements basically means he has to continue working *as a fireman* until he's 68! >:(.
That's despite the fact he's been in the fire service since he was 25 (41 now).
