hi All,
this follows on from my "breakdown" thread in general help.
Not having used the TC with this car i'm not sure on what should happen with the warning light on the dash .
When the TC is engaged by pressing the "snowflake" button , this button lights up ,which it should do I think . But should the orange
TC light on the dash also light up to show it is engaged ? as this is not happening .
I am asking as the TC light came on , the 2006 stereo switched itself on & the info display date & time reset to 01 01 1997 & 00:00
a few minutes before the car cut out & broke down with what seems to be crank sensor failure symptoms.
The car started first time next morning with the info display showing the correct date & time ( very strange :-\ :-\ ) & the TC light off
Any advice greatly appriciated TIA Al :y

The snowflake button by gearstick should light up when in snow mode (ie, you manually press snow button), TC will light up if you disable TC by pressing TC button on dash (or its disabled itself).
Expect oddities when the crank sensor is failing, as it confuddles other related systems.

Right will change crank sensor ASAP then ;)
oops! forgot all about the TC button on the dash . . . . . :-[ :-[ :-[
"confuddles" TB, that would include stereo self switching on & info display malfunctions then?

Think I need TB's help here . . . ;)
I am not at all sure on how the TC system works to be honest :-[ :-[ :-[
Can anyone be kind enough to explain . . like . . do you switch it on & off with the TC dash switch ? or the snowflake button ?
Or both ?
Never used the TC as far as I can remember in any of my omegas . . . (fine weather driver :-[ :-[ . . use the old transit when weather is
icey or snowy :y :y :y)

TC light ON = TC disabled

As said .. TC is ENABLED by default ... it is there working all the time until you switch it OFF, at which point the TC light will come on to warn you it is not functioning, so, TC light on steady = TC not working ... if the TC light flashes whilst driving.. foot down away from a junction on loose gravel/ice/greasy surface .. then that is the TC doing its job and limiting power to the rear wheels..
HTH
Snowflake button is totally separate .... that just starts the autobox off in 3rd gear to reduce the chance of wheelspin .. TC will work at the same time . given half a chance on ice/snow
HTH also
