Title: exhaust manifold

hello all :)

is a leaking exhaust manifold going to pose any problems driving wise( due to get repaired at the weekend)

have been told it will cause the car to cut out when in stationary traffic? :-\

any ideas, always appreciated :y

It will probably knock the trims out, and make it run a bit naff, but over that short time, I would thought should be OK if the leak isn't massive

...Plus if the leak is small it will close up as it gets hotter (metal expanding when hot). Mine would leak and sound bad on start up.... once warm it went away.  I'd probably have just left it but I had to remove them when my cambelt went but I'm seeing that whole saga as a blessing in disguise as I got the chance to renew loads of seals and gaskets including exhaust fanimold :y

I suspected an exhaust manifold leak some time back.  Ran beautifully and idled without problem.  I even took it to the local exhaust guy who offered to do something and booked it in... before going back, I noticed under the hood :-X bonnet that there is a rubber pipe connection between 2 sections of the exhaust recycling system this was split/repaired issue solved.  (sounded superb though!)  Might be worth a look to make sure its not just that simple. :)

Manifold leak on a 2.6\3.2 is all but unheard of
