I always lusted after one of these jobbies back in the seventies.

Would £1500 buy a reasonable example.........provided you can source one?

I owned one.

A 1974 1600XL Mk1. It was white with a torn BVR.

Looked great :y....drove like a lorry :'(.

I wouldn't put a V8 in it though. A 24v Sennie engine would probably drop straight in and would suit the car nicely. ;)
