Post by: miniator on 31 December 2013, 10:57:40
Is there a buying guide on here?

Looking to get another omega, facelift, 3.0/3.2 mv6/elite, but it's been a few years since my last one. Looking for the big things really, also Ive never had an auto so any help appreciated!

Don,t think there is a buying guide as such but check service history for things like cambelt kit change (every 4 yrs or 40K) regular coolent flush and change, check coolant color shold be a nice shade of pink ,if its auto make sure gear changes are smooth no clunks or jerks and not lazy to change up also it gets up to temperature(approx 85oC) changing stats on the V6 is no joke also check for uneven tyre wear that would need a full geometry set up and check for blocked scuttle drains ,wet carpets in front Im sure others will be along to add to this thread I also felt the calling to return to a Miggy after many years away and have no regrets still a car for the diy mechanic sadly seems a disappearing breed with modern cars good look with your quest .

Think above covers it all, also look for coolant history and make sure heater gets hot/cold :)

from my last, i remember that the Air con didn't work as there was a leak somewhere in system and also the drivers heated seat didn't work either! Must remember to check those
