While retro-fitting auto-dimming mirror I found several spare connectors behind the interior light above rear view mirror. One is for microphone, that I could make up (the one with only two wires, very small connector). Three are unknown. One is similar to the connector for the light, one is square with five wires, one is looking very "technical" and rectangular in shape.
What are these for? One is for mic, I assume one for sunroof, one for rain sensor, one for something? But none for mirror? From which one of these I can take power and ground for mirror?

If you are still working on the auto dipping mirror, those links could help as well as my below explanations in my topic "http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=108337.msg1355898;topicseen#msg1355898" : :y

I have started with the easiest one and finished the auto dipping mirror connections. Here are the tips for those who want to retrofit this type of mirror:
The mirror is a Vectra-C item and fits onto the rail on the windscreen without any change.
The cables are:
1- Brown (ground)
2- Black (+12V ignition ON voltage)
3- Grey (connected to the black/white cable (reverse lamps cable) located under the LH side (driver) door sill. This connection does not darken the mirror when it is in reverse gear allowing to see behind.
4- Black/white (Multimeter) (No need to connect this wire and I do not know why it is there)
No relay or transistor needed. It works perfectly...

It is not the same shape as I have on the "new" mirror. A lot wider and lower, the one in the mirror is merely square

In fact it seems to be correct connector, wires match the ones with mirror. But. It is not the same shape so I'll not be able to use it. Dismantled the connectors and tried to fit original pins to mirror connector but they are not the same size. Soldering to do but I'm terribly bad in soldering. Any tips? How to keep the wires together while one hand is holding the iron and one is holding the tin?

Just for auto-dimming only, 2 connections needed from roof courtesy light

The mirror I bought came with a pigtail of loom. I simply unpicked the pins from the car loom and the pigtails from the new mirror, with a bit of care, the pins can be persuaded to fit the new plug :y
Worst case, use a connector block and lots of insulation tape :-X

All sorted now and full function of mirror achieved. Tried to butcher the existing connector on car side but the pins were too small to fit the mirror side of connector so I ended up using crimp connectors (abiko-type, dunno the English word for these...) and hey presto, all connected. Dims as supposed, un-dims when on reverse or when the interior light is lit. And Vega was correct saying the one connector really IS for this mirror, the shape was just not right (variation through the years or something...)
One interesting point was that these mirrors have internal "setup" for left- /right-hand installation. The foot of the mirror has to be dismantled and turned to another slot depending on which side your steering wheel is...

This is the connector for the rainsensor mirror, the mirror for the rainsensor is different than the standard mirror.
There are 3 type of mirror connectors, pre 2000, 2000- standard mirror, 2001- rainsensor mirror.
If have a 2002 Omega with memory seats and memory mirror (without rainsensor) but the plug on the cable is for a mirror with rainsensor (like in the photo) to make it fit there is small piece of adapter loom (original Opel).
