Post by: terry paget on 04 January 2014, 07:07:18
R706FHD 1998 petrol manual estate
MOT failed on emissions. I have spare cat but cannot get out the old lambda sensor. It has 4 wires black red yellow white. Where best to buy?

It gets more serious. No replies to date; I find on e-bay that I have a titania lambda sensor, best price i can find is £78. I could get the two sensors for a 2.2 for £45.If anyone has one, please let me know.

Yes yours is titania. Pretty sure I've bought non genuine ones in the past for less than that money. Usually branded 'fuel parts'. I used to have loads of second hand ones but they are getting so uncommon now that I scrapped them all and kept the zirconia ones only.
Any vauxhall of similar vintage to your omega will have the same sensor. Guessing yours is an x18xe or and x20xev? I seem to recall the z22 engines use a zirconia.

Key is in the wiring colours, all the zirconia are two greys a black and a white wire.
