Title: V6 crankcase breather cleaning
Post by: berserkerboy on 05 January 2014, 08:09:22
Was hoping to do this using the Maintenance guide. However, ordered the necessary seals from Vauxhallworldparts.com and got a phonecall saying that part 90500983 o ring has gone up from about £1 to over £30 due to Vauxhall changing the part number! Anyone know where I can get the £1 seals. Not sure if I need 2 or 4. Mines a 3.2 2002. Alternatively can I carry out the overhaul and reuse the old seals?

Order them from any VX Dealer ,mate.

As said they are not always required as they are the 0 ring seals for the throttle body and extended section of the plastic breather chamber on a 3.2.

Seem to recall last time I bought from VX they were around £0=80 each..you will require 4 if you intend replacing them but a smear of vaseline or similar on the originals assuming they are not split,or damged by removal, will liven them up

Eco tech black box on top of the plenum. Runs from throttle body>Eco tech box>pipes at the back of the engine>alloy box behind cylinder 5(rear drivers side)

The guide in maintenance is very useful. :y
