Yup needs the heads to come off really in which case you should invest the time and effort in to refurbing the head a little (regrinding valve seats, checking tappets, etc)

You can do them in situ with the correct kit.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VALVE-SPRING-COMPRESSOR-IN-SITU-HEAD-ON-UNIVERSAL-SOHC-DOHC-Buy-or-Rent-/320951878750?pt=UK_Measuring_Tools_Levels&hash=item4aba39045e#ht_1797wt_905

And pretty easy to do in situ on the 4 pot.

How many miles on the 2.2?

I know it's an issue for early 2.6's but never really come across many threads for stem seals 2.2 issues  :-\

Easy apart from collets unless you have the knack  ::)

It comes with an insertion tool that does that bit for you.

I find that grease and a magnetic screwdriver work best :y

Thanks everybody for your input, i suppose best place is local steelers for seals cant see them on ebay anywhere.Any ideal how much for a proper set.Might send the head out to local engineer company that do skims rebuilds etc.

Seals are the same as those used on the 2.0 and V6's  :y
