Title: Crash bar bolt size
Post by: Webby the Bear on 13 January 2014, 22:08:57
Hi ya,

Busy time for miggy repairs at the moment  ::)

After lots of help from Taxi Al (cheers mate) I'm going to be purchasing a crash bar and brackets (once confirmed mine's bent).

I know it's a long shot but does anyone know the size of the bolts that bolt the bracket to the chassis leg? And what size the nuts are that secure the crash bar brackets to the crash bar itself?

As aid, bit of a long shot but if anyone knows I'd be eternally grateful  :)

Cheers.

You should be able to reuse original bolts, nuts i would have thought would be welded in position.

Yeah thing is though Martin, it's had a bash from before my ownership and by the sounds of it it's possible they're toasted as well. Al advised getting new ones and as my techy at school is such a gent I'm fairly confident he'd sort me out  :y :y :y

Nuts attach to the studs on brackets to hold the crash bar on, bolts go through the side of the chassis rail into captive nuts welded to the brackets :y
