Title: AC Condenser
Post by: jonny2112 on 15 January 2014, 21:07:11
As a matter of interest, are these the same across the range?
Or are they model or engine specific?

According to my copy of the EPC ...

52475899  CONDENSER, ASSY., AIR CONDITIONING (NLS.- USE 52482789 )

so that is the "no longer stocked" item .. you need to buy the 52482789 item .. :)

HTH  :)

Ah, cheers Nige  :y
That makes sense - found one at a low price but seller said it wouldn't suit my car. Didn't really understand why? So thank you.

Yes mate it's leaking apparently  :(
I still have the link you gave me, but a new one is some way off atm. Saw a cheap one online and thought I'd check.

That part number should be fine, the fact its no longer serviced just means its been superseeded by a later number, the original number should still work and fit.

Thanks Mark. At £75 ish I thought it might be worth stretching for, but the Vx retailer tells me that it is NOT suitable for my car, as the condensers are not the same across the range  :-X

Have had an early 3.0 one fitted to mine... had to modify either the bracket for the silver canister that mounts to it, or the casing of the nearside front fan iirc, so perhaps they are sort of right... the plumbing is unchanged though :y

My version of the EPC (admittedly quite old) gives differing part numbers for just 5 options

 1   CONDENSER, ASSY., AIR CONDITIONING (NLS.- USE 52482789 )    (52460418) (18 50 028) 1
  1  CONDENSER, ASSY., AIR CONDITIONING (NLS.- USE 52482789 )   -W1999999 (52475899) (18 50 047) 1
  1  CONDENSER, ASSY., AIR CONDITIONING  X1000001-  52482789 18 50 059 1
  1  CONDENSER, ASSY., AIR CONDITIONING RHD  Y25TD   52482789 18 50 059 1
  1  CONDENSER, ASSY., AIR CONDITIONING LHD  Y25TD   24461360 18 50 075

2 of which are NLS use 52482789
2 are use 52482789

and just ONE uses a different part number now .. and thats the LHD 2.5 TD

so unless you have a LHD 2.5 TD its all the same part numbers :)

[Assuming my EPC is correct]

HTH
