Title: Vandalism
Post by: grain.ben on 18 January 2014, 16:57:56
As one fellow OOF'er will know, my miggy was subjected to a spate of vandalism last week, along with several other cars, they all had their wing mirrors smashed off in the middle of the night. These four 'minors' got caught, were arrested and bailed pending investigations  >:(

To cut the long story short, there will be a wanted on here soon as I need replacements ASAP to get my miggy back on the road and looking at least half decent.

Here's what the little scroats did  :'( .........

What is the point of that. Surely even retarded pesky brats from parents that shouldn't be allowed to breed cannot see any fun in that?

Any option to claim against the brats, or their parents?

Much a shooting the little bastids seems like a good idea, probably best not :-\

If you have all the casings and the clips are intact, then any facelift mirrors should do the trick :y saves the hassle of getting them painted...

Why? And the parents whilst you're at it. Scum only ever breeds scum. Rid the world of them.

As it is, they'll get off with a warning, and that encourages them to do it again, as piss taking the filth is fun, init?

It's all in the hands of the local constabulary at the moment, so I'm going to be paying them another visit next week to find out whats going on, as it sounds like they will be going to court for all the damage and grief they have caused to me and many many others.

But as always, they will get a slap on the wrist and let loose again  >:( >:( . I want it to go to court as I'm after compensation for various things, so we shall see. I shall be coughing up regardless, whether I do get compo or not!

Z382 anyone??  ::) ::)

The last picture is all I salvaged from the scene at the time  >:(

Yes, a little light surface scratches and a coupe of small unnoticeable dints especially on the N/S door, the most damaged one  >:(

If I had my way, I would not be able to control my actions and I will be the one who ends up inside  ::)

I would like to see criminals having done to them what they have done to the victim, so in this case, they are all minors, so I would love to take something from all four of them that they rely on, on a day to day basis and can't do without, for example, you steal, you get your hands chopped off....criminal damage, kick their little faces in until their unrecognisable ect ect, you get the picture, oooppppsss, may of just crossed the line there haha  :-X

When my first car got nicked, I suggested to the copper that was taking me over to it that a nice warm mild acid bath would be a good compromise between slow and effective death.

His reply... I understand the sentiment, but best not ::)

Sorry to hear about your car Ben. A few years back a neighbour had his car vandalised by a group of fourteen and fifteen year olds and we caught the youngsters that did it. The police were called, they got taken to the police station with their parents and after giving a lot of lip they accepted a caution which I believe was held on record (but avoids a criminal record). After a bit of mocking from the lads and the parents taking no responsibility for their actions, my neighbour told one of the parents that he was taking out a private prosecution. When asked what he hoped to gain, he replied that he couldn't possibly lose as they had accepted a caution, which was accepted as an admission of guilt. The parents suddenly decided to pay for any damage caused.

Don't know if this still stands but thought I'd mention it.  :-\

But a private prosecution can cost a lot of money, maybe more than the cost of your car. They can still cry poverty/refuse to pay and, as it's a civil court, you'd have to pay again to get someone to try and recover it.
Sounds good at first but be very careful.

That's interesting, but on mine and everyone else's part, none of us can do anything until we find out the outcome of whats happening, they have been bailed until the 21st, so we shall find out then, and see what can be done afterwards. They will have to take out a small mortgage to pay for everyone's damage and compensation if it does come to it  :-\

I don't see them coughing up one bit anyway so I'm not holding my breath  :(

  I had my first Senator broken into only a week after buying it. the coppers never even came round to print it. They swore blind they did until I pointed out there was absolutly no trace of dusting powder anywhere inside or out on the car. Told them that if I found out who had done it, I would bring them in to the station myself but they may have some broken fingers. Dont do that although we can see your side of it was the reply :y :y
All the best to you if you can get some form of settlement from the scums parents mate

What do they get out of it?I'm old I don't understandsuch things.I don't like the idea but if someone breaks into a vehicle and steals something then they can sell that on and have something to show for it,but to just cause damage where's the gain?As has been said likelihood is they'll get a slap on the wrist,their parents probably won't give a monkeys and they'll just carry on.My dad would've done me some serious damage if I'd ever even have thought of doing such a thing.

Thats half the problem now. The do-gooders say no physical discipline, and that a poxy Naughty Step is enough punishment. What 'dangle berries'  >:(

Depends where the naughty step is... On top rung of a fully extended vertical ladder bolted to the side of a garage in the wind and rain should do it... And a as a token nod to health and safety, tethered by an ankle with a rope 7 foot short of the ladder length :y

Falling twenty feet head first then dangling a foot or so off the ground might give them chance to consider their predicament thereby learning from it :-\

Perhaps... ::)

Second offence would have a ballistic solution. Anything less than fatal is unacceptable as long term care would cost everyone dearly :-\

My understanding is that in Germany that the parents are liable above a certain age for any damage their children do. Why can't we have the same here?

With regular big bills the parents would then learn to know what the little scroats are doing on a Friday / Saturday evening.

All injured parties take out  a single private prosecution,against the parents, we know they wont pay so you then,go to civil court and get ccj against them, this then is sold on to debt collection agency. There life becomes not good, they might lose there 50" plasma or something. Or find a "friend" and make sure you have a night at cinema or something 8)
