Sorry to hear about your loss. Find someone to hug, it helps

Please remember that others are also shocked and grieving and some things are easily initially overlooked.
Bad news travels the fastest and modern social networking can make it go at warp speed.
Ask why and you'll probably find it wasn't intentional.

My elder brother and I ended falling out over silly things around my dad's passing and it took us 3yrs to make up. Stupid really  ::)

Sorry to hear about the passing away of your dad and you have my sincere condolences at this sad time.  :'(

It may have been an oversight on your family's behalf to not let you know in this time of stress and sorrow, so ask them what happened, before you jump to conclusions.

Sincere condolences on your loss.Sounds a bit of a rough way to find out, however as has been advised ask why you weren't informed by another family member before causing further family upset at this sad time.

unfortunately My partner had a situation with family I.E her step dad who stopped her seeing her mam who had cancer we called often on the phone to her but then  he changed phone number and we could not contact her , 3 weeks after this  I  got to work one Monday night an been there about 15 minutes when she who must be obeyed rang  to say that she had just been told her mam had passed away. Ok we where expecting it so  expecting to need to book some time off work  however   it cam e as a shock that her mother had passed away 2 weeks  earlier and that the funeral was at 9am Tuesday morning.  to say my boss was shocked when I said I was going home and he was shocked why  we had not been informed before this was a understatement.

To this day if we my other half and her brother both swear if they ever cross his path he will be looking like a panda

Not sure I understand that - & sorry if it seems i'm prying, but surely nowhere is more than a tankful of fuel away, even if it's a very long day. I don't think anything would prevent me going if I was in this situation myself. Again, really sorry for your loss & all IMHO ..

So sorry to hear about this.

The same thing happened to me on New Year's Eve. My sister told me my Nana had died. She was more like a mother to me as my real 'mother' was 17 when she had me and couldn't care less.
