Well cill cover off the inside and you can see the bend in the chassis.
I have now started to dismantle it, is removing engines difficult?

That depends on the tools available, the state of all the fixings and whether you have done one before.
I have always worked alone but I am told it is easier with two.
Disconnecting things behind the engine is awkward (especially when the heater hoses refuse to release).
Every engine I have removed I took the gearbox out first, if I do it again I may try lifting together (but that does require a serious engine hoist and the height to lift both together)

Easiest way to remove engine +box together, is cut the slam panel off,then height isn't a problem,
obviously don't do that if your wanting the car to be nice n useable :D

Could jack it up, remove the front wheels and lower it onto a pallet. Then wings off, and cut the inner wings/chassis rails with a grinder, undo the steering column in the footwell and keep cutting until the subframe/engine/box are liberated. Can then get a pump truck under it to move it wherever is out of the way...
Obviously need to separate the selector lever from the gearbox and the cats from the centre pipes, but cats bolt to the gearbox mounting, and prop shaft should pull out as you move the engine forward only need to unplug the loom by the battery and there's a couple of plugs along the right of the engine bay which come from the driverside bulkhead :y

Engine removal depends on how brutal you want or need to be.
Think scrapyard and gas axe, if you are simply weighing the shell in. The scales are not interested in the shape of the scrap upon them.... :y

I have seen that happen with a Ford gearbox where the prop-shaft was solid and the fore and aft movement was taken up by the gearbox splines.
I don't think the Omega will let go so easily, the prop-shaft has a centre splined section to take up fore and aft movement, I have always undone the bolts in the spider to separate gearbox from prop-shaft.

Undoing the bolts at the output flange negates the prop issue :y

Firstly I sell what I can, then remove engine and box then weigh in the shell. then when the weather is better get a snapped cam belt one to repair.

Usable = not since it got rammed in the side.
That said had a huge scare on Thursday on the way home, a car swerved onto the right hand side, and my thoughts were not again!
Luckily a horn blast and they swerved back.
I think I may have to buy a Scorpion tank!

If you remove the beam under the radiator as well, you wouldn't even need to lift it up :y take the weight, undo the front struts, track rods and brake lines, undo the six subframe bolts and pull it straight out....
Subframe would give it summat to sit on, with back end supported by gearbox/exhaust :y

halfway through removing the dash, keep finding coins as well
