Title: brakes lock on
Post by: monkey on 26 January 2014, 16:00:50
hi i got a problem with my omega its a 2.0 auto w reg (2000) i drove the car to the petrol station about 6 miles away with on problem.
after i had filled up went to pull away and the rear brake started the bind so we pull over had a look, but had no tools ,
a mechanic from a garage 400 yards away said just drive it down here but the rear (passenger side) wheel locked up and the and the front drivers side lock as well ,

he hooked it up to diagnostics and said everything was good ?
so he took the rear brakes part by remove the brake fluid but he said it works ok
after that the front was ok ..

the mechanic thinks its the abs pump or the servo or master cylinder and said its about £1000 to fix.

any help please

Hmmm. Rear pass. and front driver. That suggests that diagonal split is having a problem. I would have thought.  :-\

I could be miles off here, but could it be the seals in the master cylinder?Or possibly a brake flexi hose collapsing internally and acting as a one way valve?

i thought it was the handbrake but as soon as he let the brake fluid out, the rear wheel turn with ease

i will have a look at the master cylinder and pipes on thursday
